Phew, I’m fiiiiinally over my post-con dip. I’m usually a bit slower with designing and releasing new stuff after conventions, partially cause I’m a bit burned out from the stress of finishing all my ami’s for the Tegendraads stand on time, and also because I usually pick up a few commissions at conventions and those have priority over other work. :)
For example I made this Kaito Kid from.. some CLAMP series I think? He was pretty fun to make (I love finding crochet solutions for little details like his monocle here) and my customer was really happy with him, so yay!
I made another rainbow tie on commission too, which was probably the last one I’ll ever make. I absolutely love the looks of them and the ties were awesome to practice my knitting with, but now that I’m a bit more experienced in knitting I realize that I hate garter stitch. It’s easy enough cause it’s only one type of stitch all the way, but it just feels really annoying to knit compared to stockinette. I have one rainbow and one pinkie tie left which will be for sale on the next convention, but those are the last ones until I find a better way to make them.
On a happier note: I’m really putting some work into my pony pattern because I decided to put it up for sale. I’m in the process of redesigning some little details now and making the instructions a bit easier to understand. After that I’ll just need to photograph all the pieces and do some final polishing to the pattern. I really hope to have everything finished before MLP:FiM season 3 airs!
And because before/after pictures are always fun, here’s a photo of Twilight Sparkle. ;)
The first photo was from when I was still heavily figuring out all the design elements. When she didn’t sell I decided to completely frog her and redo everything according to a newer version of the pattern. I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy I frogged a project. ^^
